Pulling Ahead: A Look at Chevy’s Innovative Towing Equipment

One of the most popular functions for pickup trucks is towing some pretty impressive loads. In fact, some drivers specifically look at a Chevy Silverado for sale based exclusively on the equipment offered for pulling. After all, if towing is something you’re going to do regularly, you want to be able to do it well. As with all pickup trucks, the amount you can tow with your Chevy Silverado depends on the chosen model, trim, engine, and body configuration. However, you can be certain of your ability to tow your loads safely and easily when you select the Silverado, thanks to the impressive number of towing innovations available on this long-time favorite. Let’s take a look at the 2024 Silverado lineup to check out some of the ways Chevy has used technology, engineering, and innovation to help drivers tow bigger loads more places with less hassle. Trailering in the Chevy Silverado 1500 The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 has a maximum trailering capacity of 13,300 lbs. This is no small amount. Whether you’re looking for a way to pull the family camper, haul a livestock trailer, or deliver all the tools and supplies to the work site, you want to get your load to its destination as safely and simply as possible. Many drivers feel that capability begins in the engine. Chevy agrees, and to this end, they have provided drivers with an available Duramax 3.0L turbodiesel engine. Providing 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, this engine is responsible for some of the highest towing capacity numbers on the Silverado 1500, regardless of configuration. Still, the available 420 hp 6.2L EcoTec V8 engine also offers plenty of juice. Those who choose the crew cab short or standard bed models with four-wheel drive have the ability to tow up to 13,000 lbs, which is almost as much as the diesel option. That being said, the words “when properly equipped” exist in the small print for a reason. In order to pull this type of weight, the Silverado 1500 needs to be equipped with Chevy’s Trailering Package, which thoughtfully prepares drivers for various towing situations. This package offers all the basics, including a hitch, hitch platform, 2-inch receiver hitch, and four and seven-pin connectors for lights and brakes. For those looking to max out their Silverado 1500’s performance, the Max Trailering Package has even more to offer. Drivers who select this package will unlock additional towing capabilities and modified rear axles and axle ratios to support heavier loads. This package includes an updated suspension, automatic locking rear differential, updated cooling radiator, and specialized heavy-duty rear springs to make the process possible. Engineering innovations have allowed Chevy to create one of the most capable pickup trucks on the road today, but technological innovations have made capability less cumbersome. Cutting Edge Towing Technology With bigger loads comes more responsibility. Larger, heavier trailers aren’t always simple to guide along city streets and highways. Thankfully, Chevy has developed a series of innovative tools that help drivers get where they’re going. First and foremost are up to 14 different camera views that support trailering. Drivers can select up to eight cameras positioned in and around the truck and trailer to display on the center screen and help them safely maneuver. These include the famous Transparent Trailer view, allowing drivers to see “through” the trailer to its surroundings. Rear Side View provides drivers with a split-screen display of what’s going on along each side of the truck and trailer. It can also be blinker-activated to take the guesswork out of changing lanes and taking tight turns. The Hitch View and Bed View are designed to help with traditional and gooseneck/fifth wheel trailers. Hitch View provides a clear view of a traditional ball hitch, while Bed View gives a glimpse into the cargo bed. With a direct line of sight, hitching up and unhitching no longer requires an entire crew to help guide you. Chevy has also designed its driver assistance technology to accommodate trailering. Not only does the Silverado 1500 offer Blind Zone Alert, but Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert expands the detection zone to include the length of your trailer. Furthermore, Chevy’s Super Cruise with Trailering adjusts the hands-free Super Cruise platform to consider the size of your load when allowing for proper stopping distance. While the presence of a driver educated in trailering is still very much necessary, drivers have more information and assistance than ever before. Performance-Based Trailering: Chevy Silverado HD For years, the Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD have been known for their overall brawn and capability, not for their comfort and innovation. According to Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet, this has all changed. While introducing the 2024 Silverado HD lineup, he stated, “We’ve designed the Silverado HD to be our customers’ favored choice for true truck capability. The enhancements to the 2024 model build on its core strengths to provide an even stronger balance of the design, strength, and confidence that makes tackling the hard jobs, including trailering, easier and more convenient than ever.” Much of the 3500HD’s 36,000-lb trailering maximum comes from its performance engineering, though dual rear wheels aren’t required to make magic happen. The 2500HD and 3500HD are available with a Duramax 6.6L turbo-diesel V8 that has been tuned to provide 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, which offers smaller “steps” between gears. This results in greater driver control and vehicle responsiveness. Whether accelerating quickly or braking hard, this combination offers a more precise trailering feel. Chevy’s innovative trailering technology extends to the HD line. The Silverado 2500 and 3500 offer Transparent Trailer technology and Enhanced Transparent Trailer, which provides an expanded view for gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers. GCW Alert helps drivers know if they’ve exceeded their vehicle's Gross Combined Weight Rating. While Super Cruise hasn’t extended to the Silverado HD models yet, Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer is a brand-new addition that helps monitor drag and braking needs. HD drivers can also take advantage of the available suite of up to 14 camera views offered on the Silverado 1500, with each camera’s specs and positioning reflecting the larger Silverado 2500 and 3500 bodies. The Silverado HD lineup may still be brawny and capable, but they’re also more driver-friendly and safety-focused. A New Frontier of Trailering Modern technological advances have allowed us to increase the capabilities of our favorite pickup trucks. Chevy has taken full advantage of these feats of engineering, applying them wherever possible. From upgraded engines and transmissions to enhanced structural components, Chevy Silverado pickup trucks have power built in. However, Chevy also recognizes the increased need for safety and caution. Trailering technology, including safety-focused camera views and accommodations for greater braking needs in standard driver assistance features, helps drivers maintain awareness of their surroundings, even with a massive trailer blocking the view. It stands to reason that trailering will become easier and easier as technology develops. For many drivers, this is a wonderful thing, at least until we figure out how to teleport 13,000 lbs of cargo from one place to another.

2024 Silverado 1500 vs 2024 F-150: Which Truck Is the Better Daily Driver?

You can't compete with Chevy and Ford when it comes to full-size trucks. The Silverado 1500 and the F-150 have dominated the industry for generations, offering top towing marks, impressive engine options, and a slew of customization options to meet various driving needs. They're hard workers, adventurers, and much more, but what often gets overlooked is the plain old daily drive. If you're one of the many interested in a Chevy Silverado for sale, LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC of St. Clair can help you find which model will meet your demands, especially when it comes to the everyday ride. So, let's compare the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 against the 2024 Ford F-150 and see how they can offer you the experience you're looking for beyond the job site. Handling & Efficiency The Silverado 1500 drives like a vehicle much smaller than its actual size, which is a big win for those concerned about handling a full-size truck on city streets. Not only does it showcase precise handling and control, it's accurate braking and effortless steering allow you to feel confident behind the wheel, no matter where your destination lies. You'll find a wide range of powertrain options in the Silverado's lineup, which allows you to harness the excitement you're searching for during your commute. For those looking for thrills along the way, its 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 won't disappoint, urging you forward with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. With either an eight-speed or a 10-speed automatic transmission, depending on your choice of powertrain, you'll feel in complete control of your drive, enjoying a smooth, responsive ride on the road. Moreover, the Silverado is incredibly efficient, more so than many of its rivals. With its 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine, the only diesel engine available on a light-duty truck today, capable of getting an EPA-estimated 29 MPG on the highway, you'll spend less time at the gas station and more time enjoying the ride. Although there's a lot of power coming out of the F-150's engine lineup, the fuel efficiency isn't on par with that of the Silverado. The best fuel economy ratings come from its 2.7L turbocharged V6, which can get up to 25 MPG on the highway. It isn't looking any better for the 3.5L V6 hybrid engine, which maxes out at an EPA-estimated 24 MPG on the highway. If you're in the mood for more power with the F-150's supercharged V8 engine, the fuel economy is beyond abysmal, with this powertrain getting up to just 10 MPG in the city and 15 MPG on the highway. Interior Comfort Both the Silverado 1500 and the F-150 offer their drivers a variety of trims to choose from to create the ride they desire. So, which truck offers the better interior experience? The 2024 Silverado 1500's High Country model features an impeccably laid-out cabin, with premium seat trims wrapping you in luxury. From leather seating surfaces and open-pore wood trim to a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, heated seats, and other elegant elements, the comfort level inside the Silverado is plainly beautiful. Plus, you can take advantage of all these features for a reasonable price, as the top-of-the-line High Country comes in at a little under $63K. Now, don't assume that the F-150 can't offer you a cozy ride with quality appointments surrounding you. It does this exceptionally well with the alluring Platinum trim, which features multicontour seats, a heated steering wheel, and metal accents throughout. The King Ranch is also a top pick for those seeking ultimate luxury, with leather-trimmed appointments, heated and ventilated seats, and more extravagant features. Both trims will run you about $74K, which is a big jump, considering you can get a similar experience in the Silverado 1500 High Country for much less. Cargo Convenience As you run errands or embark on a road trip out of state, your truck must have the space necessary to accommodate your gear, groceries, and more. Fortunately, the 2024 Silverado 1500 showcases the most functional bed in its class, offering up to 89.1 cu.ft. for everything traveling with you. Of course, what sets the Silverado apart from the rest is that it can be equipped with Chevrolet's famous Multi-Flex Tailgate. This configurable tailgate operates in six unique ways, allowing you to maximize the amount of space you can get out of your bed, and it also allows you to access your bed quickly with a full-width step. You'll also find many storage solutions inside to help you maintain organization on board, which is essential as far as the daily drive is concerned. The F-150 has a difficult time keeping up with the Silverado when it comes to cargo. For one, it does not offer as much space inside its bed for your travel belongings. Only able to offer up to 77.4 cu.ft. in its eight-foot bed, you're vastly limited in what you can carry with you on the road. Naturally, the F-150 doesn't offer Chevy's exclusive Multi-Flex Tailgate or any equivalent to it. Ford's solution to the Multi-Flex is the Pro Access Tailgate, which can open like a traditional tailgate or be configured to open a smaller segment so that you can access your bed with your trailer attached. It's certainly not the Multi-Flex, which makes the Silverado a better pick when accommodating cargo is on your daily agenda. Connectivity Tech Having access to tech features is absolutely essential as you're rolling down the highway. Hands-free access to your contacts and connecting to work meetings on the road are necessities in the modern world, and the 2024 Silverado 1500 doesn't disappoint. With an available 13.4-inch infotainment display, you can enjoy all of your connectivity features in dazzling high definition. Offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside Google built-in, Amazon Alexa, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more, your experience inside the Silverado 1500 will be undoubtedly intuitive. Although the F-150 offers some nice tech features, the largest touchscreen you can enjoy is a 12-inch option, which can disappoint those looking forward to a large and prominent touchscreen experience. Silverado 1500 vs. F-150: The Better Ride Overall, pickup trucks do more than just work. They cart the kiddos to school, embark on road trips, and make last-minute stops by the grocery store to pick up forgotten dinner items. They're versatile members of the automotive industry, and the ability to accomplish these tasks does matter, perhaps even more so than towing capacity. When you want an all-around fantastic ride, you'll find it on board the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, with its seamless handling, exceptional efficiency, and outstanding comfort features that won't break the bank. You'll also be able to take on all of your cargo easily, connect to your day from the highway, and so much more, adding extreme value to the drive that you certainly won't find elsewhere. The 2024 Ford F-150 is a great truck; however, it lacks the components that make for a fabulous daily drive. It's not as fuel efficient, its comfort elements come at a high price, and it doesn't offer as much space in its bed for everything joining you for the ride. If you want to experience a better way to travel, you'll do so in the Silverado 1500, allowing you to feel your best as you're cruising down the open highway and beyond.

A Trim Guide to the 2024 Chevy Blazer

The 2024 Chevy Blazer marks the sixth model year outing for its current generation, bringing with it lots of exciting options for the different trims available for the five-door, five-seat, midsize SUV. If you're shopping for a 2024 Chevy Blazer for sale and want to know what trims and options are available with this popular vehicle, this guide will give you all the details you need before you commit. However, there are a few basics you should know before you start picking out your trim… The 2024 Blazer is available in two different powertrain configurations: a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder (which delivers 228 hp, 258 lb-ft of torque, and 3,250 lbs of towing) and a 3.6-liter V6 (which makes 308 hp, 270 lb-ft of torque, and 4,500 lbs of towing). Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, and both are available in front- or all-wheel drive. With the four-cylinder, you get 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway in front-wheel drive, or 22 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway in all-wheel drive; with the V6, you get 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway in front-wheel drive, or 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway in all-wheel drive. The four trims are the 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier, and all have a cargo capacity of 30.5 cu.ft. behind the second row and 64.2 cu.ft. when you fold that row down. You have eight different exterior colors available, which include six solid swatches and four two-tone swatches, some of which are trim-specific; the solids are Riptide Blue Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic, Summit White, Red Hot, Black, and Sterling Gray Metallic, and the two-tones are Radiant Red Tintcoat w/ Black, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat w/ Black, Sterling Gray Metallic w/ Black, and Nitro Yellow Metallic w/ Black. 2024 Blazer 2LT The 2LT is the entry-level trim for the Blazer, giving you access to all of the basics that you need for daily travel, commuting, or basic cruising. All trims are available in front- or all-wheel drive, and the 2LT comes standard with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which includes an electronically controlled transmission with overdrive and driver shift control capabilities. The 2LT also comes standard with LED headlamps and 18-inch Grazen Metallic aluminum wheels. However, with the 2LT, you have six other wheel options to choose from, including various designs of the 20-inch variety. The 2LT comes standard with a manual rear liftgate, but there is the availability of upgrading it with a power programmable liftgate as part of the Convenience Package. Inside the vehicle, you have a standard interior layout consisting of a Jet Black/Medium Gray color scheme on a premium cloth seating material. You have heated front seats, an eight-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, and a four-way manual co-pilot seat. Both seats have two-way adjustable head restraints and a total of four USB ports, including two on the front instrument panel and two on the rear side of the center console. There is also the full Chevy Safety Assist suite, which comes standard on all trims. Power doors and windows come standard, along with a 4.2-inch digital driver display and a 10.2-inch HD touchscreen with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System, SiriusXM integration, and a six-speaker audio layout. The 2LT can also be configured and personalized with multiple packages, including the Convenience Package, the Redline Edition, the Arctic Package 1 & 2, and the Midnight/Sport Edition Package. There are a few other accessory- and appearance-themed packages, such as the Exterior Decal Package, the Black Grille Bar Package, the Hit The Road Package, and the Black Sport Package. This gives you plenty of options to enhance the features and appearance of the Blazer 2LT trim. 2024 Blazer 3LT The 3LT trim comes standard with everything from the 2LT, but it adds a few more options to the slate, including the availability of the 3.0-liter V6 powertrain. Additionally, it makes the programmable power liftgate a standard feature instead of being part of an optional package. With the 3LT, you also get standard 20-inch technical gray aluminum wheels, but you can choose to have it outfitted with 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels or 21-inch high gloss black wheels with a machined face finish. Additionally, you get standard roof slides for exterior roof accessories. Inside, the 3LT can be configured in one of two perforated leather seat styles: Jet Black w/ Red or Jet Black w/ Nightshift Blue. You have standard heated front seats like the 2LT, but you also have the option of adding ventilation to the front seats. Plus, the 3LT is equipped with an eight-way power driver's seat and a six-way power co-pilot seat. This trim retains a lot of the infotainment of the 2LT, such as the digital driver display, digital compass, and telemetry, and it uses the same Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System with wireless Bluetooth support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice-activation, and cloud connectivity. While a lot of the convenience features are the same as the 2LT—such as USB media hubs, cup holders, and storage compartments—the 3LT comes with some additional features, such as the universal home remote. Like the 2LT, you have access to the full Chevy Safety Assist suite, which includes front pedestrian braking, an HD rear vision camera, lane change alerts, lane departure warnings, a following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, and side-blind zone alerts with rear cross-traffic alert. You even have front outboard passenger safety airbags and Teen Driver mode with report card functionality. 2024 Blazer RS The RS is the performance-oriented trim of the 2024 Chevy Blazer, and this is best exemplified by how it comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 in either front- or all-wheel drive. In the latter, it has a twin-clutch system for improved torque distribution and traction control. To complement its sports appeal, the Blazer RS is equipped with 20-inch Technical Gray aluminum wheels, but you can also have it paired with 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels or 21-inch High Gloss Black wheels with a machined face finish. The RS sports a menacing front fascia with a dark grille, an RS badge, and a blacked-out Chevy bowtie badge. Opposite the 2LT and 3LT, the RS also has access to exclusive colors, including two-tone Nitro Yellow Metallic w/ Black or Iridescent Pearl Tricoat w/ Black; this sets the tone for the RS, exuding a bolder sense of style compared to the preceding two trims. The Blazer RS also comes standard with the hands-free gesture power liftgate, which can be opened by simply putting your foot under the bumper. Inside, the Blazer RS retains all of the same features as the 3LT, which include conveniences, comfort, safety features, and a full infotainment suite, including smart device integration, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, and OnStar support. However, where the Blazer RS truly improves over the 3LT is with the Bose eight-speaker surround sound audio system, wireless smartphone charging, and an upgraded 8.0-inch digital driver display. A few other enhancements the Blazer RS has include dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless open, remote start, and customizable ambient cabin lighting. You can also have the RS outfitted with enhancement packages that can add features like adaptive cruise control or HD Surround Vision; these packages include the Sport Package, Enhanced Convenience Package, Drive Confidence II package, or the Hit The Road Package. There are a few accessory packages available for the RS, too, such as the Exterior Decal Package, the Floor Liner Package, and the Storage Optimization Package. 2024 Blazer Premier For the maximum amount of luxury that the 2024 Chevy Blazer has to offer, the Premier trim is the way to go. This top-of-the-line offering comes with everything from the first two trims but with plenty of its own upgrades and enhancements, such as silver roof-mounted side rails and 20-inch Medium Android machined-face aluminum wheels. The Premier comes standard with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder but can also be configured with the 3.6-liter V6. The Premier is also only available in select solid body colors, including Black, Copper Bronze Metallic, and Riptide Blue Metallic; alternatively, you can have it outfitted in one of three two-tone colors, including Radiant Red Tintcoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, or Iridescent Pearl Tricoat paired with a Black roof. Unlike the other trims, the Premier comes with its own unique interior color schemes, like Jet Black perforated leather seats or optional Jet Black and Maple Sugar perforated leather seats; this gives an extra air of luxury to the look and feel of the Blazer Premier. You also have all of the other standard convenience and tech features from the other trims, including wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, and Bluetooth with voice activation. However, an added bonus to the Premier is that it has the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System with navigation; this adds connected navigation support with voice-activated directions, so you can reach your destination without having to use a map app. The Premier trim includes a lot of features from the RS, such as manual telescopic steering adjustment, universal home remote, and remote access with remote start. You also have the Chevy Safety Assist suite but with the inclusion of the safety alert seat, which can notify you in case of a potential collision via haptic vibrations. The Premier has access to all of the package options of the RS but also makes it so you can access available features such as HD Surround Vision, Adaptive Cruise Control, and enhanced emergency braking. You can even add a few other luxury features, such as emblem kits or a panoramic power sunroof. Experience the Trim You Like Most Do you like a particular trim available for the 2024 Blazer? The Chevy Blazer Gives You More Freedom Than the Ford Edge

Half the fun of shopping for a new vehicle is getting to look at a wide range of options, choose available features, and put together something that perfectly meets your needs. This is exactly what you get to do when looking at a Chevy Blazer for sale since Chevy gives you so many terrific options to choose from. Whether you are looking at the engine options, the ability to get front- or all-wheel drive, or the numerous trim levels and special editions available, Chevy has you covered with an incredible selection. But not every brand and vehicle out there gives you this much freedom. Looking at the 2024 Ford Edge, for example, we can see that it’s a fine vehicle by all rights and is a midsize SUV, like the Chevy Blazer. While the Edge has plenty of good features and some decent options, it falls short of giving you the kind of freedom to build exactly what you want that you find with a new Blazer. To us, that takes away a major part of what shopping for a new SUV is all about, which is a shame because, otherwise, Ford offers plenty of good things. But let’s take a look at how much more freedom you get from Chevy to put together the perfect midsize SUV with everything you’re after. Engines and Fuel Efficiency When you’re looking at an SUV, the first thing you should consider is how it drives and the kind of performance you get from it. This largely comes down to the engine itself, though there are plenty of other aspects of the powertrain, engineering, suspension, and such factors that can all impact the ride quality, handling, and general feel you get from your vehicle. Ultimately, this is why we always suggest a test drive for our customers since nothing beats actually feeling how a vehicle performs when you’re behind the wheel. Still, looking at specs and options gives you a sense of what to expect, and Chevy's Blazer comes through with more variety than the Ford Edge. Ford offers two engines on the Edge, which is good, but they’re a lot more limited than they might seem at first. For one thing, while Ford has a powerful V6 available for the Edge, it’s only actually offered on a single trim level, which also happens to be the highest trim. So if someone wants that boosted performance, then they only have one way to get it: shell out. Similarly, every Ford Edge comes with AWD; there’s no option for FWD if you’re not interested in AWD performance. AWD negatively impacts the kind of fuel efficiency you can get since this drivetrain is more gas-hungry than FWD. With the Blazer, Chevy also gives you two engines available, but you have a lot more freedom in how you can get them. Two of the four trims for the Blazer let you choose which of the two engines you want, which makes it easy to put together all of the features and options you’re looking for. Even better, you can choose FWD or AWD performance with either engine, letting you get exactly the kind of driving experience you want, which also lets you get superior fuel economy to what Ford delivers with the Edge. This all adds up to more freedom, more options, and the ability to put together the kind of driving experience you’re looking for. Trim Levels and Options Few details of a vehicle are as closely tied to customization as the trim levels since they let you directly pick different features, styles, and options. We think Chevy is the best in the business when it comes to creating trim levels with variety and meaningful choices, which is something you don’t see other brands do so well. Even though Ford is pretty good at creating a decent lineup of trim levels, they still haven’t found the sweet spot that Chevy is known for. With the Ford Edge, there are five trims available, which seem great at first glance but it actually falls a bit short. For one thing, as we mentioned earlier, the most expensive trim is the only choice with the most powerful engine, so it creates a high-end, performance-focused model that seems like a strange choice for this sort of midsize SUV. Beyond that, it’s hard to get a sense of any real identity for these different options; they ultimately work to create some variety, but we find each one lacking. Chevy gives you four different trim levels to choose from with the Blazer, which might seem inferior at first, purely numerically, but the way they’re designed works out beautifully. The 2LT is your starting point, which has the standard engine and essential features like the Chevy Safety Assist suite of driver assistance tech and a 10.2-inch infotainment system. Moving up to the 3LT includes a number of upgrades such as advanced safety tech like a Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The third-level RS trim includes gorgeous street styling and a sporty design, with the more powerful engine standard and great features like a hands-free gesture liftgate. Finally, the Premier trim gives you a side-grade to the RS that starts at the same price but lets you choose between the two engines and comes with great comfort and convenience features, such as a wireless smartphone charging pad. Special Editions for the Blazer Not only does the Chevy Blazer have a refined and beautifully designed selection of trim levels for you to consider but it also gives you a couple of special editions to choose from. The Ford Edge has no special editions on offer, which seems like a mistake to us since these kinds of options give you another layer of customization for your vehicle. You can choose the special editions from Chevy on the 2LT or 3LT trims, giving you more reasons to consider which trim will best meet your needs and pick the right one that lets you bring it all together. The Chevy Blazer Redline Edition is one of our favorites and adds some gorgeous details and touches to this impressive midsize SUV. For starters, you get 20-inch gloss black-painted aluminum wheels with red accents that pop beautifully and go well with the black Blazer badges with red outline and other Redline decals. A black grille, header bar, mirror caps, door handles, and Chevy bowtie emblems bring this together; plus, you can choose a Summit White or black exterior paired with a Jet Black interior. For something bold and intimidating, the Midnight/Sport Edition features 18-inch High Gloss Black wheels with black center caps, a Gloss Black grille bar, a Gloss Black nameplate, and front and rear black bowtie emblems. This gives your SUV a riveting and powerful look that goes beyond just the exterior color and creates a comprehensive aesthetic for you to enjoy. Get the SUV You’ve Been Looking For As you can see, the 2024 Chevy Blazer gives you tremendous freedom as you consider your options and lets you put together the right ride. Perhaps most remarkably, however, is that Chevy does all of this while offering a vehicle that starts at more than $3,000 less than the Ford Edge; this means it starts at a lower price, and it tends to retain that difference as you look at both of their trim levels and options. So, not only can you save quite a bit with Chevy, but you can also make your budget stretch and choose from a variety of upgrades and customization options with the Blazer that are either not offered by Ford or would end up costing a lot more. This is one more way that Chevy makes it easier for you to get everything you’re looking for with a sophisticated driving experience that perfectly meets your needs.

The Buick Encore GX: A Small Vehicle With Big Adventure Energy

One of the biggest perks of living in Port Huron is access to all of the stunning public outdoor recreational areas and world-renowned tourist attractions. With 14 public parks, two public beaches, and, of course, the shorelines of Lake Huron itself, there are so many opportunities to take in fresh air, socialize, and exercise outdoors. That’s why we want to make sure that drivers in this region know about the Buick Encore GX. This sophisticated subcompact SUV is equal parts adventurous and refined, just like Port Huron itself. If you’re looking for a Buick dealer near Port Huron that sells this terrific crossover SUV, we hope you’ll visit LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC of St. Clair. We know this is the ideal vehicle for taking advantage of this beautiful area, so let’s take a look at why… Great Amounts of Cargo Space Don’t let the small dimensions of the 2024 Encore GX fool you, as you can create up to 50.2 cu.ft. of cargo space by putting the seats down—and we don’t just mean the rear seats, as you can put the front passenger seat down flat, too. This can create space for extra-long items, like a paddle board for taking out on the water or a rug you didn’t expect to fall in love with while antiquing. Not many SUVs let you put down the front passenger seat, so this feature really makes this small SUV stand out and can be a selling point for those who worry a five-seater won’t have the cargo space they need for long items. If you only need a little extra cargo space, utilize the split-folding 60/40 rear seats. You can put down just one of the back seats for some extra space, two rear seats for a little more space, or the whole rear row. There are so many ways to create the room you need in the Encore GX. That’s not even to mention the reconfigurable cargo floor. You can raise or lower it, making room for taller items (like foldable bikes) when you need them. So, between the fold-flat front passenger seat and the lowerable cargo floor, you have two ways to store long items. A Hands-Free Power Liftgate When a shopping trip at Kroger or Sam’s Club was larger than planned, you might approach your trunk with your arms full. While St. Clair folks are notoriously friendly and ready to lend a hand, there isn’t always someone around to assist. Luckily, there’s an available hands-free power liftgate. If your vehicle is equipped with it, it will sense your keyfob on your body. Then, just do a swift motion with your foot beneath the bumper, and it will open automatically, so you don’t have to put your belongings down to manually pop the trunk. An Available Panoramic Moonroof Have visitors from out of town? You know they’ll want to see the sights. So when you’re playing tour guide, showing off the amazing spots in Port Huron—like the dozen-plus on the National Register of Historic Places—they’ll love getting a comprehensive view through the panoramic moonroof. With so many destinations to explore in this city, there won’t be time to hop out of the car to explore each one on foot, but the moonroof still provides views of the sights! Solid Towing Figures Plan on tackling the Lake Huron Circle Tour? You might need to pull over to rest in a camper or enjoy the water more intimately via a boat. Luckily, the Encore GX can tow up to 1,000 lbs, so you can drag a vessel that you will use to enjoy the lake even more behind your vehicle. Here’s something that might surprise you: the Encore GX can not only tow, but it can be towed. When equipped with all-wheel drive, the Encore GX can attach to the back of a recreational vehicle and be towed. We love this feature because we know many Port Huron drivers want to explore the Great Lakes in an RV but also want the freedom to drive more narrow streets once at their destinations. So bringing the Encore GX along gives you the option to park the RV and head off in your small SUV to places your RV can’t go. Drive Mode Selector Want the freedom to depart from paved roads from time to time? Maybe you want the confidence to keep driving cleanly when the roads get wet. Luckily, the 2024 Encore GX boasts a drive mode selector, so you can select between modes like Off-Road and Sport to adjust performance and handling dynamics and gain better command on the road you’re on. This is paired with available all-wheel drive, giving you the traction you need on rainy days. QuietTuning Technology Whether you’re running errands in town with young ones in the back or you’re hitting the road, rear-seat passengers might want to take naps. They’ll do so easily in the Encore GX thanks to the QuietTuning technology with Active Noise Cancellation. This vehicle has been designed with elements that deaden sound, creating excellent insulation from exterior noises. Plus, it even monitors the cabin for unwanted sound, releasing opposite frequencies to cancel out road and engine noises. The result is a wonderfully serene cabin. Phenomenal Fuel Economy Since there is so much to explore in and around Port Huron, it’s easy to go through a tank of gas quickly. Luckily, the EPA gives the 2024 Encore GX 30 MPG combined (based on 30 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway) in front-wheel drive. So when you take off on I-69 or I-94, you won’t need to make too many stops at the pump. The fuel-efficient powertrain options don’t sacrifice performance, though. Both have solid horsepower figures and will respond to requests for acceleration rapidly. You’ll also find plenty of storage options inside to help you maintain an organized cabin, including a dedicated storage zone beneath the gear shifter to keep your space free from clutter. What makes the interior cabin experience even better, besides all of this space, is the fact that it’s armed with Buick’s legendary QuietTuning technology. This revolutionary trait consists of laminated glass, active noise cancellation, and triple door seals to filter out noise from the road, making everyone’s ride inside utterly peaceful. Check Out the New 2024 GMC Acadia

Though you may have recently spied an Acadia at a GMC dealer near Port Huron like ourselves, you may not have realized that this isn’t the Acadia of the past; in fact, GMC calls it “the all-new” Acadia. Several differences between older models and this one come together to create a bigger, better Acadia, perfect for family outings to Blue Water River Walk or Pine Grove Park, your daily commute, running errands, or taking your spouse out to eat at places like Freighters Eatery & Taproom. The possibilities open up when you’ve got the Acadia to take you anywhere you want, any time you're able. The Acadia was first designed for families that appreciate comfort, with plenty of space to get settled in for rides long or short. Lots of standard safety features mean your family will be kept safe while on the road, and with the latest technology, they’ll stay entertained instead of resorting to the dreaded “Are we there yet?” every ten minutes. If you’ve been looking for a replacement for your older family vehicle, or you’ve decided you want something stylish that can haul and tow, the 2024 GMC Acadia may be the perfect fit for you. What Is the GMC Acadia? When you look for a family vehicle, do you look for a smaller SUV, a larger SUV, or something in the middle? Moving from one size to another has its benefits. Larger SUVs have more room to stretch out, with additional space in the back for cargo. They also have a higher hauling and towing rating, which means you could equip your SUV to pull a camper, trailer, or recreational vehicle. However, there are also benefits to driving a smaller SUV: they’re easier to park, get better fuel economy, and can still haul and tow. However, the GMC Acadia is the best of both worlds. The 2024 Acadia is a midsize SUV, larger than its predecessor by almost a foot and rapidly approaching the length of the full-size GMC Yukon. The Acadia is more than a regular midsize SUV, though; it’s larger, bolder, and more powerful, capable of taking you, your family, and all the equipment necessary to your favorite campground, theme park, or other special event. Its looks have been elevated to show off its wide stance, streamlined body, and many other improvements. The Acadia is your ticket to paradise, whether you’re on the way to lunch at the Raven Cafe or you’re taking friends and family to the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. During the ride, you and your passengers will be awed by the Acadia’s smooth handling, quiet ride, and spacious interior. How It Bests the Competition With highly esteemed competitors like the Volkswagen Atlas and the Ford Explorer, what can the GMC Acadia offer you that outshines its rivals? GMC’s answer is "Plenty." The redesigned, updated Acadia has comfortable, wide seats for seven or eight people, with an additional 24% max cargo volume. Need to haul something big? Put the seats down and revel in how much space there is. You’ll be as safe as can be with over fifteen standard safety and driver assistance features, which means you’ll have help navigating the highway and city streets. Looking for something a little more exciting? How about the fact that the newest Acadia is the most off-road-ready version yet? There are plenty of places around Point Huron to explore off-road, whether you’re interested in hiking, camping, fishing, or hunting. Looking for more road-trip-friendly features? The 15.0-inch infotainment center allows you to listen to your favorite podcasts and playlists without having to squint to see what’s next. All trim levels have the option to include a power sunroof as well so that everyone can enjoy the natural light, and if you’re interested in trying out the latest Super Cruise hands-free driving tool, you can add that, too. What You Get With the Acadia Every Acadia now comes standard with a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine capable of producing up to 328 hp. With great power comes great responsibility, and the Acadia measures up rather well, able to tow up to 5,000 lbs, which means you can tow your boat, toy trailer, or camper to the lake for a weekend getaway or for summer vacation. You’ll also have room to store your equipment in the Acadia, due to more cargo space and the large storage bin that sits directly beneath the floor of the cargo area. Packing and unpacking are a cinch due to all of this extra storage space. The AT4 is Acadia’s off-road option, and the Denali is the top-of-the-line luxury trim. With the Denali, you’ll sit comfortably on leather seating as you admire the chrome and wood trim. A 12-speaker Bose stereo system provides excellent sound quality, and for those hot summer days and freezing winter nights, the first two rows come with ventilated and heated seats. Of course, the base trim also has plenty to offer, including the 15.0-inch vertical infotainment center, detection sensors for both pedestrians and bicyclists, and an additional seat over its higher trim siblings. GMC’s Promise The Acadia is the newest vehicle to make good on GMC’s promise of providing high-quality, powerful vehicles. GMC vows that the Acadia is more spacious as well, delivering more front-row legroom than any midsize SUV on the market today. The optional Super Cruise tool works on over 400,000 miles of road in North America and can assist you with automatic lane changing and trailering, which can be quite strenuous on long journeys. GMC promises to make driving easier, more enjoyable, and comfortable, no matter the length of your trip. GMC also promises that you’ll always know what’s around you, whether to the side, the front, or the back, with up to nine available camera views. You won’t have a blind spot anymore because there’s always a camera keeping an eye out. You’ll be able to drive with more confidence, thereby decreasing the stress of long drive times. Whether you’re interested in the GMC Acadia because of its size, storage capacity, power, tech, off-road capabilities, or hauling and towing specs, it will impress you over and over with peak performance and a myriad of helpful features. Get Your GMC Acadia Today! There are a multitude of helpful features with enough changes to make the Acadia look completely different from the past. It’s a vehicle of the future, after all, and GMC promises to continue improving and innovating to provide drivers like you with the best experience possible. There’s plenty to love about the 2024 GMC Acadia, whether you’re taking friends to Lynch’s Irish Tavern for a night out or you’re loading up the family to show them the sights around Port Huron, like taking part in a scavenger hunt or renting a pontoon boat for the day. The GMC Acadia promises to deliver a truly unique experience with its new look, redesigned interior, and beefy powertrain. You won’t need to baby this vehicle; you can go the distance, get dirty, and do the work you need to get done. You can find the GMC Acadia here at LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC of St. Clair, so what are you waiting for? Drop by for a visit, speak with an associate, take a test drive, and be prepared to fall in love with the all-new 2024 GMC Acadia.

Find the Perfect Chevy for Port Huron

Finding the perfect vehicle comes down to recognizing what you need in your next ride and then choosing the model that delivers. That’s a lot easier to do when you shop from an extensive selection, which is exactly what you find with the Chevy lineup. As your Chevy dealer near Port Huron, you'd expect us to say something like that, but you don’t have to take our word for it, as the evidence is pretty clear. Once you start looking at the different models Chevy offers, it’s easy to see they have something for just about every need. No matter what you’re looking for—from a small crossover for the daily commute to a spacious SUV for a growing family to powerful trucks for getting the job done—Chevy has you covered. So, let’s take a look at some of the best models for getting around Port Huron… The Chevy Trax: Small and Sophisticated Kicking things off, we have the Chevy Trax, which is the perfect choice if you need something small for getting around Port Huron or for a longer daily commute. The Trax has been redesigned and fully updated for the 2024 model year, launching an all-new generation that has grown in size, though it remains a subcompact SUV. Powered by a 1.3L Turbo engine, the Trax is fun to drive but still incredibly efficient, so you can enjoy your time on the road while making fewer stops for gas. Inside, you’ll find an 8.0-inch infotainment display; an 11.0-inch screen is available, along with an 8.0-inch Driver Information Center screen. The increase in size—being nearly a foot longer than in previous years—gives you more room for passengers and cargo. Every Trax model also comes with Chevy Safety Assist standard, which includes a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and much more. This all comes together to make this a fantastic choice whether you’re on your own each day or looking for something for a small family. The Chevy Trailblazer: Sporty and Fun to Drive If you’re looking for something similar in size to the Trax, but that model isn’t quite right for you, then take a good look at the Chevy Trailblazer. Although the Trailblazer hasn’t been redesigned for 2024, this is still a fantastic subcompact SUV with a ton to offer inside and out, starting with two engines for you to choose from. There’s a standard 1.2L Turbo, with a 1.3L Turbo available if you want something with a bit more oomph; both offer impressive fuel economy, and you can get all-wheel drive (AWD) with the available engine to boost traction and performance. AWD is perfect for winter driving in Port Huron when you need a little extra grip for dealing with snow and slush. You get a few updates for this model year: an 11.0-inch infotainment display is now standard inside every Trailblazer, along with an 8.0-inch Driver Information Center, and there are different front fascia and grille designs on different trims. The Chevy Equinox: A Perfect Daily Driver The Chevy Equinox has been a favorite among many drivers for years now; one good look at it is all it takes to understand why. If you’re interested in a slightly larger option for getting around Port Huron without going up to a midsize model, then the Equinox is a great one to check out; this is a compact SUV with two rows of seating for up to five passengers. You get a 1.5L turbocharged engine in the Equinox that comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission; AWD is available here, too, which is our preferred choice. Beyond the starting trim, heated front seats are standard in all other models, with heated rear seats available on the Premier trim, plus a heated steering wheel is available—perfect for getting going on a cold winter morning. Like the other models we’re looking at today, the Chevy Safety Assist suite of advanced driver assistance technologies is standard on the Equinox. The Chevy Blazer: Midsize Design, Big Features When looking at the Chevy lineup, the Blazer might have the fewest updates for the 2024 model year, but considering how fantastic it already is, that’s just fine with us. Here, you have two engines available: a standard 2.0L Turbo with 228 hp or an available 3.6L V6 with 308 hp. That’s fantastic power for a midsize SUV like this, and either engine comes paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, providing you with a smooth and responsive driving experience. A 10.2-inch infotainment display is standard in every model, with added features like a wireless phone charger and heated steering wheel available. For 2024, heated front seats are now standard on all Blazer models; plus, you get 30 cu.ft. of rear cargo space and more than 64 cu.ft. of total cargo volume inside the Blazer. The Chevy Traverse: More Seating for Growing Families Without going up to the full-size models like the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, the Chevy Traverse is the perfect choice if you need a spacious SUV for a growing family. This is similar in size to the Blazer, but what sets the Traverse apart is that it features a third row of seats in the back, giving you room for up to eight passengers to pile in and then hit the road together. Much like the Trax, the Traverse is also getting a redesign for the 2024 model to make it better than ever, starting with a new 2.5L engine that delivers 315 hp for a fantastic driving experience. One of our favorite things about the 2024 Traverse is the new Z71 trim, which gives you tremendous off-road capability for an SUV like this. The Z71 features more than one inch of ground clearance compared to other Traverse models, with all-terrain tires, a unique front fascia for a better approach angle, twin-clutch AWD for aggressive traction and grip out on the trail (or on snowy streets), and skid-plate protection for the underside. Combine that with the new 17.7-inch infotainment display and 11.0-inch Driver Information Center that are both standard on every new Traverse, and you’ve got something special. The Chevy Silverado 1500: Legendary Power and Capability If you need a truck for getting around Port Huron, then you can’t beat the Chevy Silverado 1500 and everything it offers. This is one of the most popular and impressive full-size trucks on the road, with four engines that you can choose from, including the remarkable 310-hp 2.7L TurboMax engine that comes standard and the available 6.2L V8 with 420 hp. You can even get a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine, as the Silverado 1500 is one of the few full-size trucks still offering diesel power. Whether you’re looking to take advantage of up to 2,260 lbs of payload or more than 13,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity, the Silverado 1500 is up to the task. From hauling a boat to the lake on the weekend to getting building materials to a job site, the Silverado 1500 is built to handle everything you need. The Perfect Vehicle Is Closer Than You Think As you can see, the Chevy lineup has an incredible array of vehicles for you to choose from, with features and performance that are perfect for getting around Port Huron. What’s incredible, however, is that we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s available: we didn’t even go into the details of Chevy’s two full-size SUVs, the midsize Colorado pickup, or tremendous cars like the Malibu and the legendary Chevy Corvette. The point is that, no matter what you need in your next vehicle, Chevy has you covered with a car, truck, or SUV designed to meet your needs and keep going strong for many years to come. All you have to do now is decide on what you’re looking for in your next vehicle and then let us help you find the perfect model.

A blue 2024 Buick Envista Avenir is shown front the front after visiting a Buick dealer.

Three Standard Safety Features You’ll Love in the 2024 Buick Envista

Buick’s highly-anticipated Envista has finally been released, and we’re so excited to show our customers all that this compact SUV has to offer. We can’t believe how many impressive standard and available features are on the Envista, especially for its low MSRP; its base-level Preferred, performance-oriented Sport Touring, and luxury Avenir trim all sit well below the $30k marker—but you’d never guess it, based on the sophisticated styling of this model. While it's a sure good looker, we'd like to highlight some of the great safety features that come standard on the Envista, meaning you’ll get them no matter which trim you choose. As a Buick dealer who helps drivers of all budgets and walks of life, we know how the Envista’s low price point makes it an attractive option for young drivers on a budget—and, since young drivers are some of the most in need of driver assistance technology, we think the Envista's marriage of terrific safety features and a low price tag is worth raving about. Teen Driver Mode Teen Driver technology is not unique to the Envista; it's not even that new, as General Motors has been installing it in its vehicles since 2015. However, we didn’t know for certain if it would be available in the all-new Envista, so we were delighted to see that it was. In fact, it comes standard on all trims! Here’s a refresher on GM’s Teen Driver technology. Set Speed Limits & Alerts Every parent worries that their teen driver speeds—and their worries are warranted. The CDC reports that teen drivers are the most likely age group to speed. Going over the speed limit isn’t safe for anyone, but it can be particularly dangerous for young drivers who still don’t have a lot of command over their vehicles or know how to react when their handling gets out of their control. The Teen Driver technology in the Envista lets drivers set both alerts and limits for the speed of their vehicle. You can set a speed alert between 40 and 75 mph; if your teen driver exceeds the set speed, they’ll receive a visual alert on the driver information center and an audible alert encouraging them to slow down. If you aren’t sure a warning will be enough, you can even limit how fast the vehicle is capable of going using the speed limiter feature; when activated, it won’t allow the vehicle to accelerate past 85 mph. Obviously, as a parent, you hope your child never pushes this limit, but you’ll feel more at ease knowing that they can’t, even if they want to. Limit Distractions Teens love to blast their music when they drive—but when the volume is too loud, they might not hear incoming sirens and can just be too distracted from what’s happening on the road, like that sedan that's looming in their blind spot as they're about to merge. You can use Teen Driver technology to limit the volume of the paired device. Your teen driver will have to keep their audio entertainment at a reasonable volume, which will hopefully encourage them to concentrate more on the road. Driver Report Card The Teen Driver technology has an in-vehicle report card that shows you stats like the distance driven and maximum speed reached. So you might not get to ride along with your teen every day, but you can learn about their driving habits after they take the car out, and then you can talk to them about improving their driving. Buckle-to-Drive Now that your teen is all grown up, you aren’t there to tell them to wear their seatbelt, but the Envista can do that for you. The Buckle-to-Drive feature prohibits the vehicle from shifting out of 'Park' for 20 seconds after the brake pedal is pressed if the driver’s seatbelt is not on. In the 2024 Envista, the radio will even remain muted until the front seat occupants have buckled their seatbelts to minimize distractions! Hill Start Assist Moving from a parked position into the drive position when on a hill is a tricky maneuver that even experienced drivers can struggle with. It can be even more challenging for new drivers, who aren’t accustomed to worrying about their vehicle rolling while on an incline. The 2024 Buick Envista has standard Hill Start Assist to take some of the stress out of this maneuver. Here’s how it works: When you are stopped while traveling downhill, and you take your foot off the brake to press the gas, the Envista will keep the brakes engaged for a moment while you make the change, preventing the vehicle from rolling downhill. It will release once you press on the gas. Feeling your vehicle rolling downhill can be a scary moment, so have fewer of those moments with Hill Start Assist. StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control Hopefully, you or your young driver never have to practice an emergency maneuver. However, near-collisions happen every day and are particularly common among new drivers. Luckily, the 2024 Envista has its StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control. This system uses sensors to monitor steering wheel activity and each wheel. If it detects a potential loss of control, it activates, making torque and brake adjustments to keep the driver on the intended path. Put simply, in a crisis, it keeps your vehicle moving in the direction you intended and can prevent you from skidding. No parent wants to think of a situation where their teen needs to rely on this system, but you’ll feel calmer knowing that it’s there. Parents and New Drivers Feel Safer With the 2024 Buick Envista You wouldn’t know it by looking at it, but the Envista—with its striking body lines, diamond grille, and sleek headlights—is a budget-friendly option. As such, it’s really popular among parents looking for that first perfect vehicle for a newly licensed teen, or among young adults looking for that great vehicle for their first real job. Any time we bring in a low-priced vehicle like the Envista, we know it will attract young drivers, so we start assessing the safety features we know they'll be using. We’re really impressed with the standard safety features of the Envista. We feel confident that parents gifting this model to their teens will feel better sending new drivers out on the roads, knowing about the safety features of this vehicle. If you’d like to know about the full suite of safety features or just aren’t sure which trim is right for you, pay us a visit at LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC of St. Clair. A Look at the 2024 GMC Terrain Denali

The Denali name has been used for years to denote luxury, capability, and adventure. Quite fittingly, the Denali line gets its name from a mountain that seems to know no limits. Standing tall within the Alaskan range, mount Denali reaches high into the skies of Alaska, claiming the title of tallest mountain in North America. Said to be one of the most incredible sights to behold, the Denali mountain has inspired numerous Denali trims that can be found at your GMC dealer —LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC of St. Clair. Designed to encompass the adventurous spirit of the Alaskan mountain range, the 2024 GMC Terrain Denali is pushing the boundaries of SUVs everywhere. Sophisticated and bold styling sets the tone for a modern, elegant interior designed to impress the most selective drivers. A suite of safety features accompanied by plenty of amenities and driver-assist programs perfectly combine high-end luxury and comfort for everyday driving. With the convenience and capabilities of an SUV, the Terrain Denali is ideal for exploring and enjoying St.Clair and everything it has to offer. Sophisticated Styling Inside and Out Stepping onto the St.Clair Boardwalk is like stepping into a postcard, with picturesque waters, historic buildings, and the sense that everything is going to be alright. A sophistication and calm elegance seem to hang in the air—a feeling similar to riding inside the 2024 GMC Terrain Denali. As the top of GMC's line trim option, the Denali features all of the features necessary for a luxury experience. In the spirit of expression, the Denali offers two distinct interior color options: Jet Black or a two-toned Light Platinum with a Dark Galvanized theme. The front seats have perforated leather appointments with unique French stitching to create a truly one-of-a-kind style. Burnished aluminum accents add interest to the interior, combining modern and classic details. With such a peaceful and calming interior, enjoying the beauty around you is easy. Outside, the Denali does an equally impressive job of balancing modern and classic details, with particular emphasis on the delicately elegant honeycomb grille. Unique to the Denali trim, the grille is a stand-out feature. Extra details, like the Denali-Exclusive Wheels with gray accents and the carefully placed chrome highlights, further the Denali’s unique persona. Bold and elegant, the Denali does a fantastic job of representing the powerful and beautiful mountain range that inspired its name. Carefully Curated Comforts The Terrain Denali is more than just looks; it has plenty of features to back up its reputation. The inviting cabin offers loads of features designed to maximize comfort. Standard heated front seats and steering wheel are precisely what you want during the winter months in Michigan. With snow days pretty much guaranteed, the idea of defrosting in your luxury Denali might be enough to sway you to the GMC side. For a little extra cozy comfort, consider the available heating function for the back outboard seats and share the warmth. For those hot and humid days, switch it up with the ventilated seats, which are available for drivers and front-row guests. Leather becomes much more opulent when ventilation keeps you and your seat as two separate entities. Creature comforts used to end at soft seating and included AC, but now we need a little bit more to consider ourselves truly comfortable. Features like Wireless Charging eliminate the panic of a low battery alert, keeping your compatible device juiced and ready for the next adventure. Using the Denali’s Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, you can use your newfound battery life and fill the cabin with your favorite music, podcasts, and more. Music acts as a soundtrack to the sights of St.Clair, pouring through the speakers of the premium Bose sound system. Seven speakers sit strategically throughout the cabin to put you front and center with your favorite band. The available Alexa Built-In feature adds another option for streaming, making sure you have a variety of connectivity options. Safety, Cargo, Convenience, Oh My There is a good reason that the SUV has so quickly risen to the top of the automotive “food chain," and that reason is its adaptability. Like a Swiss Army Knife, the SUV can do more than one thing and does each thing well. Take, for instance, transporting people. With its spacious design and flexible seating arrangements, the SUV excels at a task that once belonged to the minivan. The Terrain Denali comfortably seats five, with a roomy backseat that can adapt to your needs. The rear row offers fold-flat technology, allowing you to seamlessly switch between seating for your guests or cargo space for your stuff. With the back row’s 60/40 split function, you don’t have to choose and can carry a little of both. For those days when you need to designate it all to cargo, the front passenger seat also folds flat, opening up the cabin for maximum storage space. Being on the water, St.Clair is a prime location to enjoy water sports and outdoor activities, and with the flexibility of the Denali, it is easy to do it all. Whether you are running errands or loading up gear for the big game, the Terrain Denali offers a hands-free solution to your stowage needs. A Hands-Free Programmable Power Liftgate lets you access the cargo hold completely hands-free. Simply kick your foot beneath the rear bumper, and sensors catch the motion, releasing the rear liftgate. Throw in a blanket and some folding chairs for a free concert at Riverview Plaza Park, or plan for a day drifting down Pine River. The Hands-Free Liftgate proves that the Terrain Denali can hold its own against whatever minivan comes its way. Safety is another key factor in the SUV's rise to fame due to its size and the vast array of safety features they are equipped with. The Denali is well-equipped with safety features, providing ample coverage from front to back. GMC Pro Safety Plus comes standard on the Denali trim, featuring A to Z safety programs. Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and many other programs work together to keep you and your loved ones safe and secure. The Denali even comes with a head-up display, which conveniently and safely displays essential information on the front windshield, keeping you looking ahead. The Adaptable Sophistication Of The GMC Terrain Denali With so many SUVs on the market, it is not always easy to stand out. Each automotive brand is continually working to outdo the others, but sometimes, it isn’t about being better than the competition; when you are really good, sometimes it is about just being better than you were before. GMC is continually improving their brand, growing, evolving, and adapting to the needs of a changing market. The refined yet bold GMC Terrain Denali is the best version of itself, offering a truly remarkable experience for anyone who wants to explore St.Clair in SUV style. Whether you are looking for something rugged and capable or comfortable and serene, the Denali is the SUV for you. Take on snow days, rainy afternoons, or warm summer nights in a vehicle that understands how to balance sophistication and sport utility. Inspired by the mountains, the Denali is a bold expression that will leave a lasting impression.

It’s especially great for cookouts at the great parks around St. Clair. Easily transport portable grills in the tailgate, along with all of your ingredients and something to drink. If you’re preparing food directly in the bed, you can fold down the inner gate to stand seven to nine inches closer to the bed for better access to your culinary creations. Turn the tailgate into a prep station, where friends can assemble their burgers and hotdogs with all their favorite toppings. One of the most tailgate-worthy features has to be the available KICKER outdoor audio system built into the tailgate. This 100-watt sound system comes standard on the Denali and AT4X trims and lets you stream your favorite music at your cookouts, without the need to bring external speakers. Drive the Denali to Detroit If you need to drive to Detroit frequently, consider the Denali trim. This luxury trim will make that commute down the I-94 a little more enjoyable. It has a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a massive touchscreen, and a huge driver information screen to make your trip easier and more comfortable. Plus, it gets heated and ventilated 16-way power front seats with a massage function. Get your seating position just right for long drives and let the massage function melt away tension. You might not want to leave the truck once you get where you're going. Also available on the Denali trim is Super Cruise, GMC’s hands-free driving technology. It can take over braking, accelerating, and lane changing on over 400,000 miles of compatible freeways in the US and Canada. This can provide drivers a little break on long drives (however, you should always keep your eyes on the road, even when using Super Cruise). A Closer Look at the Chevy Equinox’s Switchable All-Wheel Drive

If you shop for an all-new Chevy Equinox at a Chevy dealer like ours here at LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC of St. Clair, our associates will ask you whether or not you want a model with the available all-wheel drive (AWD) system. However, you might not know what that is or if you need it. If you live in St. Clair, you know we see some good snow during the winter and rain during other times of the year. It impacts the roads, making driving to and from your regular activities a little more treacherous (while, admittedly, making for some gorgeous snow days). We love the true four seasons we get here, but we know it presents some driving challenges unique to the area. Because of the weather here, we recommend getting the available AWD, along with some solid snow tires (the experts in our tire center can help). The conversation around all-wheel drive does lead many of our customers to ask what the benefit is of switchable all-wheel drive. Living in a snowy climate leaves many with the choice between going for AWD, four-wheel drive, or — this newer option — switchable AWD. We often tell our customers that those who spend most of their time on paved roads but do need to tackle snow and rain will do well with AWD. Those who do more heavy-duty towing or spend more time in off-road environments will do better with 4WD. If you have determined that AWD is right for you, here’s a look at why switchable AWD is a great feature to have. What Exactly Is Switchable AWD? Switchable AWD is an available feature of the 2024 Equinox that you can activate when you aren’t sure what sorts of surfaces you’ll be driving over. Once activated, it will remain in two-wheel drive as its default but is prepared to send power to the rear wheels when a loss of traction is detected. This is helpful because if one or two wheels are on a slippery surface, the system will ensure that all four wheels are spinning, enhancing the chances you retain a good grip on the road. It’s ideal for wet roads, light snow, and mud. Some drivers choose to always keep the feature activated. Since its default setting is front-wheel drive (FWD), you can feel confident that, when appropriate, the vehicle will stay in FWD in order to maximize fuel economy. During the fall and winter, when we might see a few days of wet roads with dry days sprinkled in between, it can be nice to have switchable AWD activated so you don’t have to remember to switch between one or the other as the road conditions change. The vehicle will do it for you. Who Needs Switchable AWD? Switchable AWD can be a smart choice for drivers whose work or fun takes them to new destinations on a regular basis and sometimes even off the grid. AWD is good for moderate off-road terrain. So, if you need to leave paved roads for dirt ones to get to a job site but won’t be traveling in serious off-road terrain, AWD is appropriate for your needs. We often recommend it to professionals who visit clients in remote areas, where they might not see perfectly paved roads all the way to the front door. When cruising down the freeway or city streets between neighborhoods, the Equinox will switch back to FWD to get you optimal fuel economy. Once it senses slippery or rough roads, it will switch to AWD mode. You can find the AWD button next to the gear shift switch, so it’s easy to access at any time. Living in St. Clair County makes you a good candidate for switchable AWD. You know that some roads see the snow plow a bit more than others. The more rural and suburban areas might not get it at all. So when you have to take remote roads that have been left a bit slippery with powder, AWD will kick in to keep you in command. Why Not Just Get a Full-Time AWD Vehicle? Many drivers ask us, “Why not just get a vehicle with full-time AWD?” The truth is that most folks who live near paved roads don’t need full-time AWD. When traveling down dry roads, you’re better off staying in FWD for the fuel economy. AWD, put simply, causes the transmission to work harder, which can lead to a dip in fuel efficiency. It’s not major, but it adds up over time. You wouldn’t want to be in AWD all the time if not necessary because you’d be paying the price of worse fuel economy for no reason. The AWD components of a vehicle also require additional maintenance than FWD ones. Full-time AWD vehicles simply need more frequent maintenance for that reason, which can be costly and time-consuming. But if your vehicle has switchable AWD, there might be long stretches of time when it remains in FWD, putting less strain on AWD components. Speak to one of our technicians about how often you drive in AWD, and they’ll be able to recommend the right maintenance schedule for your vehicle. Full-Time AWD Vehicles Are Usually Pricier It’s also worth noting that full-time AWD vehicles tend to cost more than part-time ones. Some examples include the Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover Discovery, and Volkswagen Touareg, each of which comes with substantially higher price tags than the Equinox. So, we tell our customers, don’t pay for full-time AWD if you don’t need it. AWD Capable Vehicles Have Better Resale Value Many experts say that AWD vehicles have better resale value as they are more versatile than FWD vehicles. In fact, they’re more versatile than 4WD ones, as they tend to get better fuel economy while still offering improved traction in moderately slippery situations. So, when you have an Equinox and you’re ready to sell it down the line, you’ll be able to appeal to a larger range of drivers. Buyers who don’t think they’ll ever need AWD won’t mind the feature, since the vehicle can run in FWD full-time. Meanwhile, drivers who need some extra traction sometimes will like the AWD capability. Experience the 2024 Chevy Equinox for Yourself Visit us and check out the Chevy Equinox for yourself. We’d love to show you a model with the available switchable AWD feature and take you for a test drive in it.
