Chevy: A Legacy of Style and Performance

For more than 100 years, Chevy has been making some of the best vehicles on the road, developing powerful trucks, elegant sedans, and exhilarating sports cars that chew up their competition. The origins of Chevrolet go back to the early 1900s after a man named William C. Durant started another car company called General Motors. Due to internal politics, he was pushed out of GM in 1910, but he refused to give up on his idea of what GM could become. Toward this end, he started a new car company with established racecar driver Louis Chevrolet, calling their new venture Chevrolet Motor Car Company, founded in 1911.

A few years later, Chevy went into production on models like the Series C Classic Six, which was their first car. This vehicle leaned into Louis Chevrolet’s preference for performance vehicles with a powerful engine and gorgeous design—but these things also made it a pricier model than Durant wanted. The Classic Six was replaced by a Series L Light Six in 1914, alongside the introduction of the Series H that same year. In 1915, Chevy introduced the Model 490 at a starting price of $490 (just under $15k in modern dollars), and it was an immediate success. This model helped propel Chevy forward and they became so popular that Durant was able to use its success to buy shares of GM stock, eventually taking back control of GM.

Once again in a position of power at GM, Durant then began expanding on his original vision for something more than a typical car company: he wanted it to be a larger brand with numerous companies under a single umbrella. Furthering this vision, he merged Chevy into GM along with other brands like Buick and Cadillac, creating the GM that we still have today. Within this lineup, Chevy was slated as the ideal brand for a wide range of drivers, with Buick positioned slightly above it and Cadillac standing as the pinnacle brand within the GM structure. This kind of hierarchy remains in place today and Chevy continues to be an incredibly popular brand with amazing vehicles for just about everyone.

In the decades following the merger, Chevy continued to develop and deliver a wide range of remarkable models. Following World War II, Chevy set the standard for powerful and sophisticated trucks with their Advance Design models (these were later replaced by the C/K trucks, which preceded the modern Silverado). Gorgeous cars like the Bel Air and Townsman dominated the 1950s, along with the stunning Corvette released in 1953 and the Camaro in 1966. While the modern lineup includes a gorgeous selection of SUVs, the legendary Chevy Suburban has been in production since 1935, making it the industry's longest-running nameplate. No matter what you are looking for, with its legacy of bold power and gorgeous style, Chevy has a fantastic vehicle for you.

Chevy SUVs to Meet Every Need

Chevy has one of the most impressive selections of SUVs, offering something to meet any need. This can feel a bit overwhelming when you first start looking for a vehicle, but that is why we are here to help. With one of our helpful salespeople working for you, it is easy to check out the used Chevy SUVs we have in stock and find the perfect one with everything you have been looking for.

If you need a small option, for example, then you might check out a used Chevy Trax or Trailblazer, both of which are sleek and nimble models with great handling to offer a terrific driving experience. The Chevy Equinox is a bit larger, giving you more room inside if you need it, though its modest size still makes it perfect for navigating city streets and fitting into any lifestyle. If you are looking for something with quite a bit more room inside, then you should check out a used Chevy Blazer. The Blazer is one of the most stylish and popular Chevy SUVs on the market and is perfect for families, giving you plenty of room for passengers and cargo alike.

However, if you need to bring more people along with you, then you should take a look at a three-row used Chevy Traverse. Three-row SUVs like this one have become increasingly popular lately, giving you a lot of room inside without threatening to take over your garage. If you prefer the size and power of a full-size model, then check out a used Chevy Tahoe or Suburban. The Suburban is one of the largest SUVs on the market, making it the perfect choice if you need a big vehicle with a lot of room inside for your family and everything you intend to bring along with you.

We Have Hardworking Chevy Trucks

While there is no denying how popular SUVs have become these days, there are plenty of situations where only a powerful truck will do. You have several great options to choose from when looking for a Chevy truck, starting with the midsize Colorado. If you are looking for a great truck that is not too big, but with plenty of muscle under the hood for a terrific driving experience, then you owe it to yourself to check out a used Chevy Colorado. This is also one of our favorites for folks looking to head off-road or who simply want an everyday truck that is stylish and sporty for both work and play.

A midsize pickup can be great for some drivers, but if you want full-size power and performance, then you have to check out a Chevy Silverado. The Silverado 1500 is a light-duty truck with plenty of power to offer, ensuring it has excellent towing and payload capacities to tackle anything you need. Chevy also offers amazing off-road packages and features on the Silverado 1500—particularly the Trail Boss and ZR2 trims—so keep that in mind when looking at different used Chevy Silverados. If you need even more power and capability, then look for a Silverado HD model to get enhanced performance and sturdier bodies that can handle massive amounts of towing and hauling.

Chevy Sedans and Sports Cars Built to Drive

Chevy’s car lineup might not be as diverse as it once was, but there are still fantastic used sedans and sports cars available to meet a variety of needs. If you want a stylish and practical midsize sedan, then look for a used Chevy Malibu. This model is a legend in the industry and has been available since the 1970s. For something a bit larger, the Chevy Impala is a full-size sedan available until the 2020 model year, so you can find plenty of them on the pre-owned market. Both of these options are great for singles, new drivers, and small families alike, giving you a terrific car that you will enjoy driving every day.

We love practical sedans as much as anyone else, but sometimes you are not looking for practical—you are looking for pure fun and raw performance. Chevy has you covered there, too, with incredible models like the Camaro, which is a powerful muscle car that you can often find when looking at amazing used models. For revolutionary performance, the Chevy Corvette is in a league of its own, offering bold and stylish power that few other vehicles come close to. In particular, the C8 mid-engine Corvette that you can find these days delivers a revolutionary driving experience that you have to feel for yourself to fully appreciate.
